Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe is done in long term partnership with Jones Dairy Farm. All thoughts, opinions, and recipes, are my own.
What could be better than cozy pasta with crispy chicken, smoky Canadian bacon, tons of melty cheese, and just the right amount of Dijon to balance the sauce? How about bringing it all together in a single pot for maximum flavor and minimal clean up!
Seriously, this one pot chicken cordon bleu pasta is about to secure a permanent spot in your weeknight dinner rotation. The recipe is super simple, but the depth of flavor in every forkful of this creamy, dreamy dish will blow you away.
This meal is loaded with protein thanks to the chicken and Jones Dairy Farm Canadian Bacon, making it a great dinner option. Plus, the pasta cooks right in the broth, meaning it soaks up all that goodness AND you don’t even have to worry about straining.
And if you have time, you HAVE to make the crispy cheese and Canadian bacon topping. It adds this burst of crunchy texture that takes your one pot chicken pasta to a whole new level!
What’s In This Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta Recipe?
Let’s start with the juicy chicken breast. You’ll brown bite-sized pieces in olive oil until you have juicy, protein-packed perfection.
Then, enter Jones Dairy Farm Canadian Bacon with all its hickory-smoked charm. I LOVE that this product is Certified Gluten Free and packed with lean protein. Plus, it’s made without any junk like fillers, binders, preservatives, MSG, or nitrites.
The Canadian bacon really dials up the flavor of this dish. It elevates chicken cordon bleu pasta from tasty to absolutely crave-worthy!
After that, we’ll throw in some garlic, garlic powder, a little Dijon mustard, chicken broth, milk, and salt and pepper. Let it all simmer to create a creamy yet balanced sauce.
Next, add your pasta right into the broth. It’ll soak up all that flavorful broth as it cooks, and you don’t even have to bother straining at the end!
While the pasta cooks, I highly recommend spreading some shredded cheese on a baking sheet with diced Canadian bacon over top and baking until golden brown. This makes the most amazing crumbly topping for your pasta!
Finally, when the pasta is cooked, you’ll stir in Swiss cheese to your heart’s content for that melt-in-your-mouth moment. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of green, and you’ve got the coziest one pot pasta you’ll want to make again and again!
Variations For One Pot Chicken Cordon Bleu Pasta
Want to add a nice green veg? If you know me, you know I’m partial to peas. I throw them in with the cheese for a dish that feels perfectly well-rounded!
Not a pea fan like me? Spinach or broccoli would be just as delicious and nutritious!
Like mixing it up with your cheeses? Go ahead and experiment! Gruyère would be my top pick after Swiss for that classic melty goodness.
And don’t forget to try the crispy cheese and Canadian bacon topping! It’s not required, but it’s so easy to throw together while your pasta is cooking, and I swear, the crunchy texture makes your one chicken cordon bleu pasta UNFORGETTABLE.
