I can’t bake.
You think I’m joking, I know.
I can throw down in the kitchen with the best of them. Hard sear on your filet? I got it. Slow braised pork shanks with a demi glacé? I’m your girl!
But brownies that don’t come out of a box? No. that’s when I start to nervous sweat.
So what’s my “go to”?
Graham Cracker Toffee.
I love this recipe because it’s so versatile.
You can switch up the toppings based on the season, holiday, etc.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment, & squeeze as many graham crackers onto it as you can, about 15 sheets.
In a sauce pan, combine 1 cup of butter & 1 cup of brown sugar, bring to a simmer over medium heat, till melted & combined.
Pour the sugar mixture over the graham crackers & spread it out evenly!
Bake the crackers for 6-7 mins, until mixture is bubbly!
After pulling the tray out, sprinkle your favorite toppings on while the toffee mixture is still warm!
I used a cup of cinnamon granola, and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice to create a holiday flavor. Feel free to add dark chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, or your favorite crushed cookie bites.
When cool, break into bite sized squares and eat as is, or use it as a topping! Enjoy!
