Hot Honey Chicken Drumsticks

673f5446-ba2b-4306-9c13-82456431b35cWelcome to class! Today we’re talking drumstick technique, chicken drumsticks, that is. I’m baking these drumsticks until golden brown, and dousing them with a sweet & spicy glaze!

The glaze gets its kick from both buffalo sauce & sriracha, which adds a spicy garlic flavor to the vinegar based hot sauce, making for a really complex bite. Sweeten the heat by adding some honey, which caramelizes and glazes the drumsticks while they cook! Sticky perfection!

If you don’t like it hot, you can cut the hot sauce measurements in half to ensure it’s a safe bet on heat. I love these drumsticks so much and had a great time creating this recipe for Playhouse Square during School of Rock. Drumsticks-get it?

Rock & Roll Chicken Drumsticks
Serves 4
Ingredients
8 chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon olive oil
S&P to taste
scallions, thinly sliced

Sweet & Spicy Glaze
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
2 tablespoons sriracha
2 tablespoons buffalo sauce

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with parchment, and lay drumsticks evenly on tray. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 30 minutes.
2. While drumsticks are baking, combine ingredients for glaze. After 30 minutes, pull drumsticks from the oven, brush with generous amounts of glaze, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until glaze is golden brown and bubbly on the chicken.
3. Drizzle any remaining sauce over chicken, and sprinkle with thinly sliced scallions! Serve as is, or with a big garden salad for dinner. Enjoy!
