Description

These maple chai pear scones will have you falling in love with the cozy flavors of autumn! The perfect blend of spicy chai, sweet maple, and juicy pears in every bite is a dreamy treat for crisp fall mornings.

Ingredients

Scale

Maple Chai Pear Scones

1 cup diced pear
1 cup AP flour
1 cup bread flour
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 T dark maple syrup
1 T chai masala powder (I like spicewalla)
1 T baking powder
1 tsp kosher salt
5 T cold butter, cut into chunks

Glaze

½ cup confectioners sugar
3 T dark maple sugar
2 tsp chai masala
¼ tsp kosher salt
1 T water

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Add the butter and quickly work through your hands to turn the butter into the flour until you have small pea-sized pieces of butter.
  3. Add the pears and stir.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients, fold into the dry mixture, and turn the dough out onto a floured surface.
  5. Fold the dough over 2-3 times, then pat to an inch-thick round disc.
  6. Cut into 8 triangles and transfer to a baking sheet.
  7. Chill for 30 minutes. Near the end of the chilling time, preheat the oven to 400F.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
