I know the holidays can be a bit of a hectic time for many, traveling to family members homes, rushing around the store, getting those last minute presents wrapped, but what about one relaxing day at home?

I have a few recipes that make a day at home, easy, affordable, and also special. I’ve partnered with Whole Foods Market 365 again this holiday season to share some recipes that I made for my Saturday Christmas at home with Megan.

We popped champagne, had cinnamon rolls with presents, some snacks during the afternoon, and a delicious dinner that took no time to prep, and was so impressive! I’m talking lobster butter on Mashed Potatoes, ok!? You can do this for under $100!

You know I love Whole Foods Market 365. I appreciate their stance on healthy food at affordable prices, lots of local features, and the brand trust in products free of artificial additives and gmo’s. I shop at the WFM365 in Akron, Ohio, which is just about 35 minutes from downtown Cleveland. The store has a local coffee shop with one of my favorites, a lavender latte, and lots of my favorite local business owners, like Cle Kraut and Randy’s Pickles. You can even get a burrito on a Siete Grain Free Tortilla! Delicious!

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the end of the year at home with a few loved ones, I have a few easy recipes for you on this blog! Let’s Dig In.


Breakfast In Bed
-Grab a bottle of Jacques Bardelot Brut, a few on-sale oranges, and a can of bake-at-home organic cinnamon rolls, and breakfast will be ready in no time. Preheat the oven and bake cinnamon rolls to instructions, pour champagne into the flutes, and squeeze some fresh orange juice into each glass. Cozy up in bed or on the couch by the fire and have a sweet moment of relaxed quiet! Yum!

Snacks during Movies
– I grabbed a few pre-made snacks, like mini goat cheese dips with baguette, some pre-stuffed WFM365 mushrooms to bake, and then made a batch of bruschetta to go with the assortment. Here’s How I did it.


1 cup mini heirloom tomatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/4 cup fresh mozzarella
1/2 baguette
salt & pepper to taste

Slice baguette into 1/2 inch pieces, add small pieces of mozzarella, and bake at 400 until cheese is melted. Mix all other ingredients to make the bruschetta, and spoon over warm baguette slices and serve.

Date Night Dinner
-I grabbed a few filets and veggies for dinner, but walked past the seafood section and saw that lobster tails were 2 for $12 with amazon perks! How awesome is that! I decided to make a lobster mashed potato to go on the side, and it couldn’t have been easier. If lobster in the shell intimidates you, I hope you’ll try this at home, it is simple. All you need is a strong pair of kitchen scissors, snip down the length of the lobster tail shell, and pull the meat out.


Lobster Mashed Potatoes
1lb organic white potatoes
1/3 cup salted butter
2 small lobster tails
1/3 cup milk
fresh parsley
1/2 a lemon
salt and pepper to taste

In a large pot, boil diced potatoes until done, strain, and mash with a fork or potato masher. Stir in 1/3 cup milk, and salt and pepper to taste. While potatoes are cooking, make the lobster butter. In a sauce pot, melt butter over low and squeeze half a lemon into the butter, swirling to combine. Add chunks of lobster tail meat to the warm butter, and cover for 5-8 minutes, allowing the lobster to poach. Spoon butter over warm mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley, lots of salt and pepper.

After the potatoes are done, I served them with seared filet with mushrooms, and roasted veggies tossed in balsamic vinegar. I love to add fresh thyme and garlic to both my steak and mushrooms, it gives it that restaurant flavor at home!
